Why do I need to change a power toothbrush brushhead every 3 to 4 months?

  • Like manual toothbrushes, the bristles on power toothbrush brushheads also wear with use. To ensure consistent, effective plaque removal, the brushhead should be replaced 3 to 4 times a year, depending on the brushing technique of the user (people who use more brushing pressure wear out the brushhead faster) and frequency of use. To let you know when it is time to switch, all Braun Oral-B brushheads (except the Ortho) have Indicator® bristles. These colored bristles provide an excellent means for monitoring bristle wear and brushing pressure. When the color fades halfway, usually after 3 to 4 months, the brushhead should be replaced.

Can I use the new brushhead (EB17) on all Braun Oral-B power toothbrushes?

  • The EB17 (UPC: 069055824153) fits on all Braun Oral-B power toothbrushes. While the new brushhead has been designed to enhance the 3D Excel technology, the EB17 fits all existing power toothbrush models. The key features are the FlexiSoft® bristles, which bend when wet, allowing the longer Interdental Tip bristles to reach between teeth.
  • Braun EB17 brush, replaces EB15 brushes. It fits all Braun Oral-B Plaque Removers. Fits models: ID2522, D5000, 4713, 4715, 4726, 4728, 4729, 4730, 4731, 4736, D5000, D5011, D5025, D5525, D5545, D5595, D7525, OC5525, D9511, D9525, D9545, OC9525, D15525, D15525X, OC15525X, D17525, and more.

What is the main difference between the Braun Oral-B child's brushhead (EB10) and the adult's brushhead (EB17)?

  • The child's brushhead has a smaller diameter to fit more easily into a child's mouth. It also has flowered bristles (bristle tips split into mini bristles) for an especially soft-feeling on children's teeth and gums. Finally, the kids brusheads have a center row of raised bristles to better reach the occlusal (chewing) surfaces, a problem area for many children.

How do I correctly charge my Braun Oral-B power toothbrush?

  • 1. Plug the charging unit into an electrical outlet
  • 2. Place the handle on the charging unit and the charge indicator will light up
  • A full charge takes 16 hours and will allow you to brush for more than 7 days for the Plak Control Power toothbrush and 12 days for the 3D and 3D Excel Pulsating Toothbrushes. For everyday use, the handle can be stored on the plugged-in charging unit to maintain the toothbrush at full power. Overcharging is impossible.

To maintain the maximum capacity of the rechargeable battery, unplug the charging unit and discharge the handle through regular use at least every 6 months.

This assumes brushing twice per day for two minutes each.

Where can I service my Braun Oral-B products?

  • Go to the Braun.com Service Center for a list of service providers and customer service representatives who can provide you with the information you are seeking.
